Formula Woman Newsletter - 2nd September 2022

As always, lots of news and important information for the Formula Woman Community, including training and assessment dates for the remainder of 2022.

FORMULA WOMAN GT CUP TEAM 2023

We can now confirm that the winners of the Formula Woman 2021 competition have had their prize extended and will now compete in 2023 in a full season of the GT Cup Championship.

Having missed the first two events this season and recently removing their mandatory novice crosses at Silverstone, the team of Erika Hoffmann, Sara Misir, Jodie Sloss and Steph Sore will compete together in a two car Formula Woman team in 2023.

Trade Centre Group will continue to support the team throughout 2023 and further sponsors and manufacturer support will be announced very soon, so watch this space!

Formula Woman have decided to withdraw from the last two events at Donington and Snetterton and will focus on further seat time for our elite squad of five. Yes five, see next story!

ALICIA BARRETT JOINS FORMULA WOMAN GT CUP TEAM

2021 Formula Woman finalist, Alicia Barrett, will join the Formula Woman team as the fifth driver for the 2023 GT Cup team. 18 year old Alicia from Nottingham, was one of the finalists who made it to the Sweden shoot out earlier this year and just missed out on the timed runs having only passed her driving test a few weeks before!

Alicia has been undertaking some training sessions recently with Formula Woman and will soon be testing with the DTO team in preparation for 2023.

AVAILABLE TRAINING DATES IN THE UK

You don’t have to train before the competition, but like any sport it is advisable if you want to do well. Motorsport is not cheap, but we have tried to offer some cost effective coaching/training for you leading up to the competition in November/December.

Remember, if you can’t afford the training, many competitors found themselves a personal sponsor last year, which covered their testing, travel and accommodation. Those that do secure sponsors will be able to do their piece to camera at the assessment with their new found sponsor branded shirt and or cap.

Here are the confirmed dates for boot camp (3 days) one to one (full day) and half day sessions;

  • 11th to 14th September - 3 Day Boot Tour (karting,track day and sim)

  • 3rd October - Snetterton Track Day

  • 16th to 18th October - 3 Day Boot Tour (karting,track day and sim)

  • 24th October - Bedford Track Day

  • 1st November - Snetterton Track Day

  • 7th November - Bedford Track Day

  • 17th to 19th November - 3 Day Boot Tour (karting,track day and sim)

Please note that bookings can be made only on a first come first served basis, so if you wish to make a booking we suggest you do so sooner rather than later.

43 COUNTRIES INVOLVED WITH FORMULA WOMAN

Formula Woman welcomed our first applicant from Lebanon at our track day at Donington this week – Pia Boueri. Pia’s main concern was driving a right hand drive car but she soon got used to that!

INTERNATIONAL REPRESENTATIVES AND WHATSAPP GROUPS

Formula Woman is not only a competition but also a community of like-minded women. To spread the word about the competition and the growing community, we need International Representatives.

If you're someone who would like to be active on social media and represent her country, please contact us to find out more.

Currently, we are looking for someone to represent every country except France and Australia, as they already have International Representatives.

If you don't want to be an International Representative, but would still like to be a part of the Formula Woman community in your country, we are currently in the process of creating WhatsApp groups. If you would like to be a part of these groups, please contact
