Formula Woman Newsletter - 24th August 2022

Quite a busy newsletter this week, so please read carefully so as not to miss out. A couple of the main points, the Formula Woman Portal, a very important part of the competition and the assessements days and dates.

The Boot Camps and Trackdays have been a huge success and there is an announcement about these for the rest of the year.

TRACK DAYS & BOOT TOURS

The demand for One to One, Introductory and Boot Tour Days has exceeded the days we have available. We are virtually full for both August and September,

However, we are putting on several days towards the end of September, all of October and the beginning of November.

For those of you who are training hard for your assessment day in November, we want to help you to be well prepared.

Our chief instructor and McLaren development driver Katie Milner is putting together a list of all those who would like to have some tuition and coaching. If you are one of these competitors, please contact Katie to get on to our priority list. As the dates and venues are secured, Katie can then contact each of you on the list prior to the dates going on to our weekly newsletter.

COMPETITION V COMMUNITY

We are aware that some of you don’t wish to enter the competition in November, but just want to be a part of The Formula Woman Community.

Formula Woman is about growing our community across the globe. Currently our team are developing more opportunities to attend and be involved with our core team as representatives.

So far, we have members from 42 countries, nearly all of whom have become dedicated Formula Woman supporters.

Next month we will be announcing our junior membership for all young ladies under the age of 17 who want to start early!

PERSONAL SPONSORS

Last year we encouraged applicants to look for personal sponsorship to offset their costs of travel and accommodation. Many used their sponsors to fund their on-track training.

This worked extremely well for some and in return we placed their sponsors branding on the helmets for their assessment, which was picked up by the onboard TV cameras.

This year we are suggesting you wear your sponsors branded cap and/or T shirt
As everyone will be doing a direct PTC (piece to camera) to test your media skills. The footage captured will be available to you for social media use and available to Formula Woman for TV coverage if you make it through to the finals.

THE FORMULA WOMAN PORTAL

For all those in the competition, you must complete the basics of motorsport as well as the health team section. Each section gives you a certificate when completed and everyone attending assessment days should make sure they have completed all the online courses.

For our members from the UK, the initial assessment days will be 23rd November and 24th November. These will be held at Bedford Autodrome.

For members from Europe and overseas who are travelling to the UK, your assessment day will be 30th November at the same venue Bedford Autodrome (nearest airports are Luton and Stansted).

The UK assessment days are open to members who have joined since 18thSeptember 2021, plus those who were unable to attend last year and asked to postpone until 2022.

UK ASSESSMENT DAYS 2022

For our members from the UK, the initial assessment days will be 23rd November and 24th November. These will be held at Bedford Autodrome.

For members from Europe and overseas who are travelling to the UK, your assessment day will be 30th November at the same venue Bedford Autodrome (nearest airports are Luton and Stansted).

The UK assessment days are open to members who have joined since 18thSeptember 2021, plus those who were unable to attend last year and asked to postpone until 2022.

Also, we are offering a “Second Chance” to those of you who did not get through to the second stage last time. If you are one of these people and wish to apply, the places are limited and are offered on a first-come, first-served basis. For the Second Chance people there will be a fee of £75 to pay to partly cover our costs.

Unlike last year, we now need you to contact us with your preferred day and we will do our best to accommodate you on that day. We are restricted on numbers per day, so again first come first served. We will confirm your place in due course, once we are in a position to do so.

If you are unable to attend and wish to delay until next year, we are quite happy for you to do that, but please let us know.

If we do not hear from you, we will have to assume that you no longer wish to take part.

You will be driving cars and karts, helmets and suits will be available and lunch will be provided on the day. You need to make your own travel arrangements and accommodation if needed.

For all applicants who have secured their own personal sponsors, you will be invited to do a piece to camera wearing your sponsors branded merchandise (T shirt, cap, jacket etc).

Final Instructions and Indemnity Forms etc will be emailed to you approximately three weeks before the event, and these must be completed and submitted back to us online at least seven days before your Assessment.

So please book your place by contacting;
